Birmingham Fastener is a one-stop fastener manufacturer and distributor for American-made high-quality products and custom services to take on your toughest jobs. We serve a variety of industries including structural steel, waterworks, industrial distribution, aerospace and defense, oil and gas, and OEM and MRO.

Since 1980, more than a dozen locations have joined the Birmingham Fastener family, providing customers with reliable supply and tailored solutions. We operate the highest volume distribution center of nuts, bolts and standard fasteners in the U.S. while also manufacturing custom and non-standard products built-to-spec.

Howard Tinney founds Birmingham Fastener.
1980
The first manufacturing division opens, making Birmingham Fastener the premier domestic manufacturer of T-Head bolts.
1984
Huntsville Fastener opens as the company continues to expand.
1985
Dallas Fastener opens, creating better access to Western and Southwestern markets.
1991
Alabama Aerospace opens, expanding reach to new markets with a focus on aerospace and defense.
1995
A state-of-the-art, 150,000-square-foot distribution center opens in Hanceville, AL.
2002
Prosouth Fastener opens, connecting us to coastal and international markets.
2005
Howard Tinney’s son, Brad Tinney, is named new CEO.
2013
Birmingham Fastener becomes ISO 9001 certified for the first time.
2013
An in-house lab with full testing capabilities opens, ensuring quality control across all products.
2015
Houston Fastener opens, spearheading efforts to serve the oil and natural gas industry.
2019
Iowa Fastener opens in Ankeny, IA, allowing us to reach Midwest markets.
2019
New York Fastener opens in Elmira, NY to represent Birmingham Fastener in the Northeast.
2019
We partner with Atlanta Rod and Manufacturing to increase domestic manufacturing in the Southeast.
2020
Steel City Bolt & Screw is acquired to further grow and strengthen product offerings.
2021
Manufacturing diversity and product offerings are developed further through the acquisition of KT Bolt Manufacturing.
2022
Partnering with Champion Manufacturing, a rubber gasket manufacturer, adds variety to our waterworks offerings.
2022
Expansion reaches the West Coast with the acquisition of Pacific Coast Bolt.
2023
Birmingham Fastener opens a branch in Phoenix, AZ to continue westward growth.
2023
We expand internationally by opening CASM, a distribution facility in Querétaro City, Mexico.
